Job summary

Southwest Montana Veteran's Home in Butte, MT is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our long‑term care unit and deliver high-quality resident care in a compassionate team environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN, an active Montana RN license, and BLS certification, and will provide comprehensive nursing assessments, medication administration, and coordination with physicians and staff to ensure patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Active Montana RN license required.
  • BLS certification from the AHA required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse (RN) care for residents.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and evaluate changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Provide skilled nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, tube feedings, and other procedures.
  • Supervise, delegate, and guide LPNs, CNAs, and nursing staff.
  • Develop, implement, and update care plans based on assessments and input.
  • Collaborate with physicians and therapists for coordinated care.
  • Complete documentation and records in a timely manner.

Education

BSN from an accredited school of nursing

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse (RN) care for residents
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of residents and evaluate changes in condition to ensure appropriate interventions and care planning
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician and in accordance with facility policies and professional nursing standards
  • Provide skilled nursing care including wound care, IV therapy (as permitted by state practice), tube feedings, suctioning, catheter care, and other complex nursing procedures
  • Supervise, delegate, and provide clinical guidance to LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel in accordance with state nurse practice acts
  • Ensure care plans are developed, implemented, and updated based on resident assessments and interdisciplinary team input
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and effective resident care
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, assessments, and clinical records in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory standards
Compensation and Schedule
  • Pay range: $45.00/hour
  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: Butte, MT
