Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Resource Pool - Operating Room (OR). The RN will provide competent nursing care in accordance with the nursing process and standards of practice, focusing on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Shift: Flexi Days with on-call requirements; minimum of 2 shifts per month. ADN required; BSN preferred; Virginia or compact RN license; BLS within 90 days; minimum 18 months OR RN experience.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN or higher preferred.
• Virginia or compact multistate RN license in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care with OR team to ensure safety and quality.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and professional practice in perioperative care.

Job Description:

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education:

• ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.

Certification:

• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.

• BLS within 90 days of hire.

Experience:

• minimum of 18mos OR RN experience.
