Overview

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. Flexible 3‑shift schedule with float between Obici and Belle Harbor locations. Applicants must have completed a PeriOp 101 course or have experience in scrub or circulator roles in an OR. Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

Provide competent nursing care in the operating room using the nursing process model. Assist with a diverse range of procedures, including general, orthopedic, vascular, gynecologic, spinal, and plastic surgeries, and may be asked to assist in obstetrics. Apply critical thinking, collaborate with the surgical team, ensure patient safety, participate in education, evidence‑based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Registered Nursing license (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Scrub and circulator experience in an OR (required).
• Completion of a PeriOp 101 program (required).
• Experience managing complex cases in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong communication skills with patients and providers.
