• Two years of acute care experience preferred; exceptions possible with more than two years.
• BLS certification – American Heart Association – must be obtained prior to orientation.
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Float pool RN providing care across medical-surgical, progressive care, critical care, emergency, and specialty units across IU Health facilities.
• Coordinate care from assessment to outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation with multidisciplinary teams.
• Actively participate in clinical decision-making, teaching, mentoring and collaboration to improve patient care plans and outcomes.
• Adapt to real-time staffing needs and support operational efficiency across the system.

The Clinical Nurse Resource serves a vital member of the Indiana University Health system float pool, embodying the mission, vision, and values of IU Health. Accountable for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care across the continuum – from assessment and diagnosis to outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Actively participates in clinical decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to advance patient care plans, achieve optimal outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. Qualifications:

• Requires an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN License.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursingprogram.2 years of experience preferred.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – must be obtained prior to the start of orientation..
• Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires incumbent to be highly adaptable, confident, and skilled in managing change.
• Experienced in multiple specialties or eager to broaden clinical scope required.
• Must possess strong communication skills with excellent critical thinking and organizational skills.
