Job summary

MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn in Cleveland, OH is seeking registered nurses to join the Neuro Trauma Recovery Float Pool. The role includes ventilator/trach care, SCI retraining, wound prevention and care, and rehabilitation education across three units.

Ideal candidates are graduates of accredited nursing programs with Ohio RN licensure and BLS. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for qualifying experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (BLS) certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Float across 3 units within the Physical Rehabilitation Institute.
• Care for SCI, TBI, and stroke patients, including ventilator/trach care.
• Provide wound prevention and care.
• Utilize rehabilitation technologies and therapies to support regain of function.
• Educate patients and families about rehab plans and expectations.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, therapists, social workers, and dining staff.

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Up to $10,000 sign on bonus for RNs with qualifying experience

Primary Patient Population:

• Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Stroke Recovery

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Ventilator/Trach Care
• SCI retraining (Bowel & Bladder management program)
• Wound prevention and care
• Specialty treatment and technology for regain of function
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• Will float across 3 different units within our Physical Rehabilitation Institute

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio

• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or other Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
