Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Nursing Float Pool at MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. The role supports multiple units with 72 bi-weekly hours and rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include IV placement, blood draws, and advanced nursing care, with a focus on critical thinking and efficient time management. Experience in inpatient settings is preferred; BSN is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current RN license in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Magnet Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float between units: Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, and WOCN.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and delegation.

Primary Patient Population

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care

Personnel RN will work with

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Required Qualifications
