Position Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado; Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health-related field is preferred. One year (1) of Detox/Substance Abuse Disorder experience is required; two (2) years of previous experience is preferred. May be required to work overnight as necessary.
Job Purpose
Provides nursing duties that offer detox and withdrawal management services to adults. Promotes and fosters health, assesses dysfunction, aids patient’s recovery, improves or learns coping skills and abilities, maximizes strengths, and prevents further disability. The focus is on assessment and monitoring of safety, self-care activities, and psychobiological courses of therapy. Job duties are based on the Scope and Standard of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Standards of Practice.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Frequent requirements include walking, sitting, standing, or kneeling, and occasional climbing, balancing, and stooping. Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer is necessary. Employees must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations involving enraged, distraught, and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions. Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
