Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.

You will coordinate care across disciplines, document patient status, and carry out physician and nursing orders in a dynamic hospital setting. You will assess patient needs, develop individualized plans, and participate in daily rounds, with opportunities for professional growth within a Magnet-designated system that values

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates ability to identify patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related domains.
• Delegates tasks to other nursing staff to maximize patient outcomes.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary rounds and provides input for patient care.
• Adheres to ANA standards and ethical guidelines.
• Develops, implements and revises individualized care plans.
• Participates in ongoing professional development.
