  • Document health history, assessments, actions, and medications in the EMR system.
  • Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Perform IV starts and educate patients on procedures and potential complications.

We are seeking a relief Registered Nurse to join the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. Nurses act as advocates, educators, and partners who bring our mission of compassionate, individualized care to life every day, offering not just medical expertise but also empathy, connection, and support that address the whole person.

Position Highlights

  • Hourly rate $41.26–$50.55 (DOE) with potential for higher pay for highly experienced candidates
  • Additional pay for bilingual skills, paid on hours worked
What You’ll Do
  • Provide care during patient visits by discussing chief complaint, obtaining vital signs and a complete health history, and developing a baseline physical assessment.
  • Perform phone triage to determine chief complaint, next steps, and follow‑up care needed.
  • Document health history, assessments, actions, and medications in the EMR system.
  • Assist providers with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Perform IV starts when ordered, including patient education on procedure, site selection, and possible complications.
  • Communicate with patients to collect information on allergies and preexisting conditions.
  • Explain medication classes, usage, and possible side effects to patients or guardians, and obtain consent.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in developing patient plans of care, coordinating interagency referrals as directed by the provider.
  • Collaborate with providers in implementing the patient plan, providing education, identifying additional services needed, and initiating follow‑up care plans as required.
  • Collaborate with ancillary staff to process patients, maintaining smooth patient flow.
  • Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission, Health Resources and Services Administration, and YVFWC requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
