Florida Cancer Specialists is hiring a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology at our Highland Office. The RN assists physicians, provides patient teaching, and supports care coordination in a fast-paced cancer treatment setting.

Candidates should hold a Florida RN license, CPR certification, BLS within 30 days, and have strong communication and EMR skills; oncology/radiation oncology experience is preferred, and we offer comprehensive benefits.

In the past five years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The RN assists physician in the care and teaching of patients. (Radiation Oncology Division)




• Customer Service/Patient Assistance System & Documentation




• Telephone Triage

QUALIFICATIONS

• A valid Florida RN license is required.




• Current CPR certification are required. (AHA preferred)




• BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days).




• Experience in radiation therapy preferred.




• Experience with hematology/oncology /radiation oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is preferred.




• Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential.




• Must have strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.




• Fluency in the English language




• excellent oral, written communication AND computer skills is required.




• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.




• Strong EMR skills needed.
