Job summary

Vail Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for patients and families in a high-quality mountain healthcare setting.

You will collaborate with providers, staff and the care team to achieve optimal outcomes, manage patient flow, and deliver education to promote informed health decisions. The role requires Colorado RN licensure and BLS, with one year of clinical experience and a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
  • Triages incoming patient requests for services.

  • Delegates care per Colorado statutes and supervises appropriately.
  • Performs nursing assessments with priority and critical thinking.
  • Handles high volume calls for medications, information, and assistance.
  • Administers medications and assists in procedures while maintaining safety.
  • Coordinates patient care with physicians and Health system partners.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Anchors care with Relationship-Based Care, emphasizing safety and patient preferences.

About the opportunity

This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for patients and their families. Assure expert, compassion, individualize nursing care for patients and families is expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

What you will do
  • Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
  • Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
  • Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statue.
  • Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
  • Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
  • Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
