Job summary

Qualifications

  • One year of critical care experience strongly preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Colorado or a valid compact state.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required; CCRN preferred.
  • Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for hires after 07/01/2018.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily patient flow to optimize care, safety and satisfaction.
  • Prioritize incoming patient requests for services.
  • Deliver patient education to facilitate plan of care and informed choices.
  • Delegate care appropriately per Colorado statute.
  • Demonstrate competent assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking.
  • Handle high telephone volume for medications, information and assistance.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, assist in procedures; follow safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate patient care with health care team and departments.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Provide service using Relationship‑Based Care and advocate for patient preferences.
  • Model Just Culture and organizational values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and maintain HIPAA compliance.

About the opportunity

This position assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for patients and their families. Assure expert, compassionate, individualized nursing care for patients and families is expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

What you will do

  • Coordinates patient care with other disciplines on the health care team, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship‑Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  • Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need
Experience
  • One year of critical care experience strongly preferred.
License(s)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
Certification(s)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) required.
  • CCRN preferred.
Education
  • Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay: $37.90 USD - $60.45 USD
