Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking an RN Quality Coordinator to serve as a consultant across departments and drive transformation in patient outcomes through evidence-based practice initiatives. You will lead performance improvement activities and collaborate with medical staff to assure continuity of care and high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes ethics, compliance, data analysis, and education of staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be a registered nurse (RN).
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree required.
  • Two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultant to departments to improve patient outcomes.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and quality initiatives.
  • Educate hospital staff on evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Develops and recommends protocols for evidence-based practice.
  • Oversees and analyzes data related to throughput of patient populations.
  • Provides data to outside agencies and hospital leaders to drive change.
  • Collaborates with medical staff to ensure continuity of care and quality outcomes.
  • Works with EMS to ensure continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital.
  • Represents hospital at local/regional levels for best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with TJC and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and teamwork; supports other duties within licensure.
  • Assists with accreditation programs in collaboration with departments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN Quality Coordinator acts as a consultant to other departments in order to achieve transformation and sustainable change in patient outcomes based on best practice. This position acts as a liaison for leading the hospitals performance improvement initiatives.

What you will do in this role:

  • Supportive of the ethics and compliance programs set forth by HCA demonstrated by:

  • Upholds code of conduct.

  • Enforces all ethics and compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area.

  • Sets an example to all staff in their daily activities. Adheres to policies on appropriate access.

  • Respects patients and healthcare confidentiality.

  • Educate hospital staff on evidence-based practice initiatives.

  • Develops and recommends protocols and guidelines for evidence based practice initiatives.

  • Oversees, analyzes, and trends data related to throughput of targeted patient populations.

  • Provides data to outside agencies as required and/or other applicable hospital leaders to initiate change as appropriate, in order to improve processes and outcomes.

  • Work with medical staff to assure continuity of care in designated patient populations and to ensure quality outcomes occur.

  • Works closely with Emergency Medical Services to assure optimal continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital.

  • Acts as an internal hospital resource and externally in the community.

  • Participates in identifying needs, planning and implementing educational programs for patients, families, community groups, and other designated healthcare facilities to improve outcomes.

  • Represents the hospital at local, regional, or other applicable levels related to best practices for patients.

  • Assures compliance with all TJC and other applicable regulatory agency guidelines.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building skills.

  • Assists with other duties as assigned within scope and practice of licensure.

  • Assists with administering accreditation programs as assigned in collaboration with all departments, management leadership and designated hospital committees.

  • Sets high standards of performance goals and works diligently to achieve them
