Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an RN for Pulmonary Rehab to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive nursing care in a clinical setting. The role follows Mercyhealth’s nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan.

Schedule is 7:00am-5:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in day shift, with opportunities for professional development. The ideal candidate is a Graduate of an accredited nursing program, holds RN licensure, with ADN required and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in state of practice.
• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
• ACLS/PALS/PEARS/NRP or other unit certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per policy and standards.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
• Develops patient plans of care per physician policy and family instruction.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and unit governance.
• Escalates safety and patient experience concerns through proper channels.

OVERVIEWThe RN for Pulmonary Rehab provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan.Schedule: 7:00am-5:30pm, Tuesdays and ThursdaysShift: DaysESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.Documents according to standards of care.Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)CERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements.
