Job summary

Cataract & Laser Institute | Bridgeview Eye Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse to support daily operating room activities and coordinate patient care. The role collaborates closely with physicians and surgical staff to prepare for procedures, maintain a safe surgical environment, and ensure an efficient workflow.

You will plan and provide individualized nursing care, prepare equipment and supplies, anticipate surgeon needs, and monitor for safety and quality in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Two years of operating room nursing experience with IV skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide individualized nursing care using sound clinical judgment.
• Prepare equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies based on patient needs and physician preferences.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and support operating room procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and perform surgical counts according to facility policy.
• Monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report malfunctions.
• Communicate with physicians and team members to coordinate care.
• Monitor supply levels and expiration dates and assist with sterile processing and supply readiness.
• Support quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and compliance with facility policies.
• Assist with the orientation and training of new employees.
