Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act.
Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients.
Coordinates psychiatric and/or medical emergencies to ensure proper care of individuals in crisis and safety of all patients.
Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
Administers medications with knowledge of their action, administration, side effects, and contraindications.
Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.
Riverview 3 is an Adult Inpatient Intensive Treatment Unit.
