Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s St Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking an experienced RN for full-time night shifts (7p-7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. You will care for psychiatric patients, educate patients and families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective treatment plans.

The role requires an active IL RN license and BLS certification, with knowledge of mental health laws and patient-centered care.

Overview

• Deparment: Psych Acute Adult


• Schedule: Full-Time, Nights, 7p-7a, every other weekend and rotating holidays.


• Facility: Prime Healthcare St Joseph Hospital


• Location: Joliet, IL 60435

Responsibilities

Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients' and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients' medical histories and symptoms, help to perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs teach patients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication and physical therapy. Other related duties.
