Job summary

Medical City Alliance is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit to deliver patient-centered care with a focus on cardiac and medical-surgical patients. You will collaborate with providers to coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
Education/Skills:
  • Associate’s degree required; BSN preferred. BSN will be required within 3 years of employment.
  • Professional Nursing Organization Membership strongly encouraged.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse License eligible to practice in the State of Texas required.
  • Current BLS upon hire and ACLS from HCA approved vendor within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Nursing Certification preferred or obtained within first 12 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated competence in cardiac rhythm interpretation and assessment, and treatment.
