Level 1 Trauma Center
Teaching Hospital

Nurses for this unit need Med Surg experience, as this floor has inpatients for pre- or post-surgical services. Surgical experience is primarily required.
4E candidates will care for patients post-operatively and need experience handling patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT. Some of these patients will require step-down care. Ratios are 5 or 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for the step-down (SD) area.
4W is our surgical transplant area, also with step-down and post-op patients. These patients are either new transplant recipients or returning transplant patients. They require close monitoring for reaction, rejection, and infection.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

BSN
ENT and/or Transplant Experience Preferred
