Job summary

Methodist Health System in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for NICU with a minimum of 1 year NICU experience. You will provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process, ensure patient safety, and participate in family education.

Current Texas license or eligibility, BLS certification, and accredited nursing program graduation are required for this role. This is a PRN position with shifts per pay period and weekend requirements at Methodist Richardson Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so.
• Work experience: Minimum 1 year NICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family education process.
• Communicates to the team, patients, and family members and evaluates understanding of information.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff and the facility.
• Delivers medication and IV administration safely and accurately.
• Uses nursing process to ensure quality care throughout the episode of care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care is provided throughout the episode of care.
