Job summary

The MetroHealth System seeks a Registered Nurse PRN for PM&R/Stroke on 5N OBC at the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute in Old Brooklyn, Cleveland. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered stroke rehabilitation in a dedicated unit.

Responsibilities include neurological assessments, ADL assistance, mobility training, and rehab education for patients and families, with coordination across the care team. A minimum of 1 year RN experience is required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• AHA BLS for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Primary Patient Population: Stroke Rehabilitation

• Stroke Rehabilitation

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Neurological assessments
• Adaptive ADLs
• Transfer/Mobility training
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit: 14 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or other Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
