Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Procedural Team for PRN Pre Admissions Testing (PAT/Pre-OP). You will conduct patient interviews, perform assessments, and coordinate pre-op care to support safe surgical pathways.

The role requires an Associate's Degree, RN license, BCLS and ACLS, and at least 2 years in an operating room setting, with BSN preferred. You will cross-train to PreOp and PACU as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing (ADN) or higher.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Current Registered Nurse License.
• Current BCLS and ACLS Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient interviews to gather complete medical history, including allergies, current medications, past surgeries, and family history.
• Complete physical and verbal assessments before admission to identify any surgical concerns.
• Order pre-op tests including blood work, EKGs, x-rays, etc.
• Educate patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
• Review charts for completeness in accordance with documentation protocols before and after surgery.
• Cross-train to PreOp and PACU to assist as needed.
