Job summary

The Elevance Health Companies, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) for Paragon Infusion Centers in Austin, TX. This on-site role supports infusion therapies, patient admissions, and ongoing care during clinic hours from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday.

The position requires an ASN or ADN with at least 2 years of clinical experience, an active RN license, TB test, and Hepatitis B vaccination (or waiver). BSN preferred; experience with IV therapy and bilingual English/Spanish are valued.

Qualifications

• ASN or ADN with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Current unrestricted RN license in the applicable state; multi-state licensure if providing services in multiple states.
• TB test completed and Hepatitis B vaccination or waiver (required for Paragon and Carelon Health business unit).

Responsibilities

• Administer therapies per prescriber orders and facility protocols.
• Complete patient admission process as directed by Center Director.
• Perform patient assessments and involve NP for comprehensive evaluation as needed.
• Document all data in the patient’s medical record.
• Report significant changes to Center Director and follow up on issues.
• Evaluate patient response to therapy and document findings.
• Educate patients and families about the therapy plan.
• Ensure medication orders are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Adhere to HIPAA and all applicable laws and regulations.

Position: Registered Nurse (PRN) – Paragon Infusion Centers

Location: Austin, TX – 720 W 34th Street

Clinic Hours: Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm

Schedule: PRN – minimum 1–2 shifts per week, on‑site requirement.

Responsibilities

• Administer all ordered therapies following prescriber orders, facility protocols, INS standards and company policy.
• Complete patient admission process as directed by Center Director.
• Perform physical assessment on each patient and refer to NP on duty for complete assessment when needed.
• Document all pertinent data in the patient’s medical record.
• Report significant changes or observations to Center Director and follow up on identified problems.
• Evaluate patient response to therapy and document findings.
• Educate patients and/or family members about therapy plan.
• Ensure medication orders are complete, appropriate, accurate, and up to date prior to treatment.
• Adhere to all applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires an ASN or ADN and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Current unrestricted RN license in the applicable state; multi‑state licensure if providing services in multiple states.
• Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test and HepatitisB vaccination or signed waiver (required for Paragon and Carelon Health business unit).

Preferred Skills and Experience

• BSN degree.
• Experience with IV therapy, including ports, PICC, and peripheral lines.
• Medication mixing and titration experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurance terminology.
• Exceptional time‑management skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
