iCare Emergency Room & Urgent Care in Forney, Texas seeks a Registered Nurse for the night shift in its free standing ER. The RN will provide direct patient care, conduct assessments, administer meds, and collaborate with the ER team to ensure safe, timely care during overnight hours.

Open 24/7 with weekend/holiday requirements, this role offers night-shift differential and a committed team focused on high-quality emergency care and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Texas.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2–3 years ER RN experience; strong assessment and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for acute medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor vitals throughout shifts.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; establish IV access.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR and maintain safety.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and support families with education and empathy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold policies and protocols.

Job description:

• Availability for night shift7p-7a

ER is open 24/7, 7-days per week to include holidays

$3.00 shift differentialwill be added to hourly wage for nursing staff who work weekday PM (7p-7a) shifts and weekend day shift (7am-7PM) .

$4.00 shift differentialwill be added for weekend PM shifts (7pm-7am)

This position is part of a specialized team that is trained in the recognition and treatment of urgent to emergent patients for exams, responding to patient’s needs, accurate completion of documentation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals presenting with acute medical and surgical conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and vital sign monitoring throughout shifts
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and advanced practice providers
• Establish and maintain IV access, draw specimens, and perform laboratory testing, and assist with diagnostic procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, technicians, and support staff to ensure coordinated care
• Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records
• Respond promptly to patient needs and maintain a safe, clean treatment environment
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education and emotional support
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and protocols
• Support colleagues during high-volume periods and complex patient situations

Required Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Texas
• Current Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS) /(ACLS) and Pediatric Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS).
• Minimum 2-3-years main hospital ER RN experience necessary to meet established clinical and quality standards
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a main hosptial and free standing emergency department setting
• Experience with electronic health record systems
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and customer service excellence
