Job summary

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, invites applications for an Acute Care Registered Nurse PRN. The role covers Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU nursing care, coordinating with providers to deliver patient-centered care and advocate for patients’ experiences.

Responsibilities include admission assessment, procedures as ordered, timely documentation, med administration, and staying current with cardiac/medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience
• Associates Degree in Nursing required
• NC licensure as RN required (eNLC may apply)
• BLS, ACLS and CPI certifications required
• Masters Degree in Nursing preferred

Job Summary and Qualifications

Schedule: This position is a minimum of 2 shifts per 2 week period.

This department is a combination of Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience: One year of RN experience
• Preferred Experience: Strong hospital experience
• Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Nursing
• Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS and CPI
