Job summary

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse PRN to join a department serving Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU patients. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers.

The role requires at least one year of RN experience, an Associate’s degree in Nursing, NC nursing licensure (eNLC may apply), and BLS/ACLS/CPI certifications.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• NC Board of Nursing licensure required; eNLC may apply.
• BLS, ACLS and CPI certifications required.
• Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the provider.
• Document care in the patient record promptly and completely.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures and equipment for cardiac/medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Schedule: This position is a minimum of 2 shifts per 2 week period.

This department is a combination of Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience: One year of RN experience
• Preferred Experience: Strong hospital experience
• Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Masters Degree in Nursing
• Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS and CPI
