Job summary

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital is seeking an Acute Care Registered Nurse PRN to join our team in Spruce Pine, NC. The role focuses on pre-operative and post-operative nursing care within a department serving Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU patients.

The RN coordinates care, advocates for patients, and supports an exceptional patient experience. The position requires at least 1 year of RN experience, an ADN, and NC licensure with BLS/ACLS/CPI certifications; eNLC may apply.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN license with NC Board of Nursing; eNLC may apply.
• BLS, ACLS and CPI certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Schedule: This position is a minimum of 2 shifts per 2 week period.

This department is a combination of Med/Surg, Progressive Care and ICU patients.

The Acute Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience:One year of RN experience
• Preferred Experience:Strong hospital experience
• Required Education:Associates Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Education:Masters Degree in Nursing
• Required License:Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
• Required Certifications:BLS, ACLS and CPI
