Job summary

Wake Endoscopy Center – Raleigh, NC is seeking a PRN Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to support safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care throughout the endoscopy process.

This position offers flexible, as-needed scheduling in a focused procedural environment, with opportunities to collaborate with physicians and the care team while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in endoscopy, GI, procedural, surgical, or perioperative nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care throughout the endoscopy process, from patient preparation through post-procedure monitoring
• Support patient care activities in the procedure room and collaborate with physicians and the care team
• Verify patient identity and procedure using approved safety and time-out protocols
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies based on patient and procedure needs
• Assist with safe patient positioning and continuous monitoring during procedures
• Accurately document patient care and procedural details in accordance with policy
• Handle, label, and log tissue specimens according to established procedures
• Ensure instruments and supplies meet high-level disinfection and sterilization standards
• Support efficient room turnover and appropriate use of supplies
• Provide patient education, comfort, and reassurance while maintaining privacy and dignity
• Perform other duties as assigned
