Job summary

Saint Luke's Cardiology is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide in-clinic care, triage, and patient education. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensure adherence to nursing standards, and coordinate plans of care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments, administering treatments, delegating tasks to staff, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role requires strong communication and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinic

Qualifications

• 2 years of related nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse licensure in KS and MO (NURSYS).
• Associate degree in nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
• Perform telephone triage, manage patient flow, and coordinate care.
• Schedule emergent follow-ups and educate patients and families.
• Delegate tasks to clinical staff based on competencies and scope of practice.
• Serve as subject matter expert for patient education and documentation.
• Enter orders as directed by the provider and manage samples.
• Collaborate in a team or autonomous setting; maintain professional demeanor.
• Cover Medical Assistant or LPN duties as needed.

Job Description

Cardiology Registered Nurse PRN.

Accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Responsible for performing patient care delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies rules guidelines and procedures.

In Clinic Setting

• Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
• Provide telephone triage, patient flow, and coordination of patient care.
• Schedule emergent need patient appointments, identify learning needs for patients and families, provide advice and recommendations, insert intravenous access with medication administration and duties as assigned based on clinic need.
• Delegate tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.
• Serve as subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing.
• Enter admission orders as directed by provider.
• Manage expired samples.
• Able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times.
• May cover Medical Assistant, LPN, or other office duties as needed.
