The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing and overseeing nursing care for residents while maintaining a safe, supportive, and abuse-free environment. The RN assesses resident needs, monitors changes in condition, oversees nursing staff, administers medications and treatments, and ensures care is provided in accordance with physician orders, professional nursing standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations.
The RN directly supervises Care Supervisors and provides oversight and direction to nursing staff. Responsibilities include assigning and directing work, addressing staff concerns, supporting performance management, and promoting quality resident care.
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist residents with daily care needs. The RN must be able to safely maneuver a medication cart, assist with resident mobility, and occasionally lift or move residents using appropriate equipment and safe resident-handling techniques.
This position is performed in The Orchards facilities and healthcare environments with frequent interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, medical equipment, medications, and cleaning products.
