Job summary

USPI is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Physician's Surgery Center of Chattanooga team. The RN will perform assessments, administer pre-operative medications, monitor vital signs during surgery, and provide post-operative care. Candidates must have a current Tennessee RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and preferably 2 years of nursing experience in a surgical setting. A commitment to patient safety and high-quality care is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid RN license in Tennessee.
  • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
  • Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the surgery center.
  • Administer pre-operative medications and ensure patient readiness for surgery.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or concerns during surgery.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures and maintain a sterile field.
  • Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, and manage pain control.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative instructions and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure infection control protocols and safety standards are followed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Skills

Current Tennessee RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications
2 years of nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Description
