Unit Specializes in: 1 west is the designated stroke unit with 12 telemetry beds. It occasionally admits patients with diagnoses such as AMS, Syncope, DM, seizure, and stroke. RNs are trained in EKG interpretation. RN ratios are 1:6 with acuity-based assignments. EKG training and NIH certification are required.

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring high-quality nursing care. The RN manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members including ancillary and support services. The RN's role includes leadership, partnership, teaching, and supervision.
