Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse in Chicago to assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs and develop individualized care plans with the care team. You will perform IVs, wound care, medication administration, and other nursing procedures while advocating for patient safety and rights.

You will educate patients and families, promote engagement through motivational interviewing and teach-back, and collaborate to ensure high-quality, compassionate care in a diverse

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Job Description:

• Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.
• Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
• Encourages patient engagement in healthcare through motivational interviewing, self-management protocols, and teach-back methodology.
• Delivers relationship-based care, engaging patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
• Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Coordinates and implements group visits for identified high-risk patient populations.
• Aids in the care transition of high-risk patients, including medication reconciliation and coordination of services.
• Contributes to continuous process improvement by actively participating in patient experience and satisfaction initiatives.
