Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a Presurgical Testing Nurse for our Per Diem team in New Hampshire. You will perform preoperative assessments, review patient records, and identify risks before procedures requiring anesthesia.

In this role you will monitor vital signs, administer medications, provide wound care when needed, and educate patients about pre-surgical testing and postoperative care while collaborating with surgeons and care teams to ensure patient safety.

Who We Are

Pre-Surgical Testing (PST), part of our Surgical Services team, is a group of nurses that care for patients of all ages scheduled for surgical, invasive, and non-invasive procedures requiring anesthesia. Electronic Medical Records are used to retrieve documents and results prior to surgery as well as perform telephone interviews with patients.

About The Job

As a Presurgical Testing Nurse, you are responsible for performing preoperative assessment on patients prior to surgery. You will examine patient records and identify any risks or potential complications that may arise during the operation.

What You’ll Do

• Assess patient condition and monitor vital signs before, during, and after surgeries.
• Administer medications and perform wound care as necessary.
• Provide educational resources to patients about pre-surgical testing and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare providers to ensure patient safety is always maintained.

Who You Are

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.
