Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Surgicare North Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing surgery in a 6-room facility. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and privacy from admission through recovery.

The RN will support conscious sedation, sterile technique, and post-anesthesia assessment while collaborating with physicians to ensure smooth patient flow and effective discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients pre- and post-anesthesia with safety and comfort as a priority.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care from assessment through discharge planning and education.

Registered Nurse PreOp/Pacu at Baylor Scott and White Surgicare North Dallas

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
