Job summary

Baylor Surgicare - Dallas is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for PreOp/PACU to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care from admission through discharge.

The role includes assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation, while maintaining sterile technique and prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in the state.
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous nursing care for patients in PreOp/PACU.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation.
  • Utilize sterile techniques and maintain patient safety.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care pre- and post-anesthesia for discharge preparation.

*Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, nights or calls*

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Baylor Surgicare - Dallas:

The Registered Nurse PreOp/PACUprovides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
