Job summary

Leonardtown Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse Preop/PACU to join our team. The PreOp/PACU RN provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.

May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to prioritise and organise workload with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Monitor patient condition and ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with sedation and sterile techniques.
• Care for patients emerging from anesthesia; plan and evaluate for discharge.

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, nights or calls

Registered Nurse Preop/Pacu at Leonardtown Surgery Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgement
• Able to prioritise and organise workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Pay Range:

Min $39.93 to Max $59.90. Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
