Job summary

Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU. You will provide ongoing nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy, and may assist physicians during procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques.

The ideal candidate holds a Maryland RN license with BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and has 2 years of PACU/critical care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate for discharge.

TheRegistered Nurse Preop/PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Salary Range: Min $39.93 to Max $59.90.

Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
