Job summary

Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care in the ICU/outpatient settings. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, communicate with physicians, and mentor other staff.

Requirements include current state RN license, BLS, Critical Care course preferred, ACLS within 30 days, and at least one year of acute care experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license must be active in the state.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days.
• CCRN certification preferred for critical care track.
• One year of acute care experience required; CCU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and coordinate with physicians about changes in condition.
• Direct patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff to maintain standards of care, including ICU monitoring.

Education

Current and valid state RN License.

Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.

Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patients clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
