Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse to develop and implement nursing care plans for outpatient patients. You will administer care, provide health advice by phone under providers' guidance, and support scheduling, records, prior authorizations, and referrals.

The role requires a nursing degree and at least 6 months of outpatient clinic experience; day shift, 36 hours weekly, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing or NLN approved program.
• 6 months of prior experience as an RN, or equivalent in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement nursing care plans for clinic patients.
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
• Provide telephone health advice to patients under provider direction.
• Handle scheduling, medical records, prior authorizations, and referrals.
• Take vital signs, record histories, prepare patients for exams, collect lab samples, and administer vaccines.

Job Description

A Clinic Registered Nurse develops and implement nursing care plans. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. Give telephone advice to patients on health concerns and disease prevention under the direction of providers. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, sending and requesting medical records, and completing prior authorizations and referral requests. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, collecting laboratory samples and performing tests, administering medications and immunizations.

Education

• Required: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing or NLN approved program

Experience

• Required: 6 months of prior experience as a Registered Nurse, or prior experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in an outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting
