Sentara Health in Virginia Beach is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Physician Practice in a remote weekend day shift (Sat, Sun, Mon) from 7am to 7:30pm. The RN provides care in ambulatory clinics, assists with examinations, administers medications and vaccines, and coordinates patient education and follow-up.

Requirements include ADN (BSN preferred), 1–2 years ambulatory or clinic nursing, and current RN license with NCLEX and BLS. AMB-BC preferred.

Qualifications

Reporting to practice or nursing leadership, this role assesses patients, assists with procedures and examinations, administers medications and immunizations, and provides patient education and care coordination. The nurse manages triage, follow-up, and communication with patients between visits and coordinates with physicians and office staff. This role matters because skilled outpatient nursing supports chronic disease management, prevention, and continuity of care. The nurse handles clinical documentation in the electronic health record, supports population health outreach, and helps the practice run safely and efficiently. **MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION**An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. **MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**One to two years of ambulatory, clinic, or medical-surgical nursing experience is preferred. **MINIMUM REQUIRED CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE**Current state RN license is required. Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Ambulatory Care Nursing (AMB-BC) certification is preferred. **MINIMUM REQUIRED COMPETENCIES**Skilled ambulatory assessment and triage. Knowledge of chronic disease management, prevention, and immunizations. Ability to assist with procedures and examinations. Strong patient education and care coordination. Effective telephone and message triage. Proficiency with the electronic health record and clinical documentation. The base pay range for full-time employment is $38.01 - $55.42 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
