Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the Division of Services for Addiction. Responsibilities include providing nursing care, dispensing medications, and coordinating patient care across Wellness Center locations.

Qualified candidates hold a NYS RN license, an Associate's degree in nursing (BSN preferred), and BLS certification. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful, and the position is grant funded with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/training required.
• NYS Mandated Infection Control training required.
• NYS Mandated Reporter Training in Child Abuse and Neglect/Maltreatment
• Justice Center Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and related clinical activities in accordance with program objectives and policies, as assigned by the PCC/designee and in support of medical care directed by the physician.
• Perform Registered Nurse responsibilities within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with program policies and procedures
• Demonstrate accountability for planning, coordinating, and providing nursing care to promote continuity of care.
• Dispense and administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor patients for reactions or changes in condition.
• Must be able to work at all Wellness Center locations based on operational and staffing needs, as scheduled.
• Perform additional clinical responsibilities as assigned based on clinic needs
• Per Diem Scheduling and availability.

The Per Diem Registered Nurse functions as part of the clinic leadership team, performs task and carries out responsibilities within the frame work of health teaching, health counseling and supportive / restorative care. These duties are performed under the supervision of the Head Nurse / staff. The Per Diem Registered Nurse will be required to perform the duties listed below and other duties involving the same type, area, and degree of responsibility.

Per Diem Scheduling and availability.

• Candidates must be available to work a minimum of four (4) days per month andmust include at least one to two (1-2) Saturdays per month inclusive of occasional holiday weekends. This position will cover all Wellness Center Locations
• Saturday assignments are 6:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.:Monday through Friday assignments are 7.5-hour shifts, with start and end times varying depending on the clinic and operational needs, hours of operation
• Candidates schedule must be flexible to work various shifts and locations depending on operational needs.
• This position is grant funded.

Requirements
