Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking an on-call Registered Nurse (20% appointment) to provide clinical support for employees. The role includes hands-on care, vaccinations, medication administration, and assisting with exams and injury management in a flexible schedule.

Requirements: NYS RN license with at least 3 years of clinical experience, BLS certification, and availability for short-notice on-call shifts, typically 1–2 days per month.

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license with a minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Available for on-call shifts, generally 1–2 days per month, on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Hands on care providing first aid.
• Administering immunizations.
• Administering medications and spirometry.
• Assistance with conducting physical examinations.
• Initial treatment of patients and management of occupational or athletic injuries.
• Assistance with employee absence management, back-to-work clearance, and travel medicine.
• Understanding of workplace safety, health risk reduction, and screening.

Pay rate $50.30 per hour
