Job summary

Live Well Homecare is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse (SANE) on a per-diem basis to provide independent forensic nursing care in the Emergency Department. The role involves medical forensic exams, head-to-toe assessments, and detailed anogenital examinations for adult and adolescent survivors.

You will collect forensic specimens, document findings, and collaborate with ED staff, law enforcement, victim advocates, and legal teams, ensuring compliance with professional standards and preparing for

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Illinois RN licensure.
• Certified in AA SANE through the Illinois Attorney General or approved certification.
• Experience in forensic nursing preferred.
• Computer literacy, including Epic EMR training.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic collection, STI management, and assess vicarious trauma.
• Attend peer review meetings and ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
• Work closely with hospital staff, law enforcement, and community programs.
• Participate in training, documentation, and courtroom testimony as needed.

Role Overview
