Job summary

UCSF Health in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Transitional Care Unit. A minimum of two years of recent RN experience in pediatric transitional care is required, with prior care in pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease contexts preferred.

The RN will utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, provide safe, therapeutic care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent pediatric RN experience in a Transitional Care Unit.
• Experience caring for pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease patients.
• Current California RN licensure and CPR certifications (PALS/BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Work as part of interdisciplinary nursing teams and support management of complex patient care.
• Orient and assist with care across UCSF Health locations.

Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in a Pediatric Transitional Care Unit
• Previous experience caring for pediatric cardiac or congenital heart disease patients.
• Experience managing patients with complex chronic medical conditions

Knowledge of congenital heart defects and common postoperative cardiac surgical and cath care.

• The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• CPN

Licensure/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current PALS and BLS for healthcare provider CPR certifications .
