Job summary

University of California, San Francisco is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU role. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within an interdisciplinary team to maintain safe, therapeutic outcomes.

Flexibility to work at multiple UCSF Medical Center locations is required, with CA RN licensure and CPR/NRP certifications staying current. Preferred BSN indicates a path toward advanced practice and leadership in neonatal care.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent NICU RN experience in a level III unit.
• Experience with extreme low birth weight neonates and congenital anomalies.
• Willingness to orient at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic care.
• Carry out established nursing procedures and assist with complex patient needs.
• Support management of patient care delivered by the nursing team.

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of recent clinical RN experience in a level III Intensive Care Nursery with a surgical patient population
• Proficiency in providing care for the extreme low birth weight infants and neonates with congenital anomalies such as Pre-Operative Congenital Heart Disease
• This position requires flexibilityto orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN)

Licensure/Certifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification
• Current healthcare provider NRP certification
