Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a highly skilled RN for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The role supports leadership in coordinating and delivering compassionate patient care, following the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

Shift: Nights, 7PM to 7:30AM, three 12-hour shifts with holiday/weekend rotation. Qualifications include BSN preferred, current Michigan nursing licensure, and BLS within 1 month of hire.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in coordination and delivery of quality patient care using the nursing process.
• Communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
• Delineates, delegates, and documents nursing care and teaching.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Unit Description:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 10-bed unit managed by board-certified pediatric intensivists. The unit is specifically designed with the facilities, equipment, and specialized personnel necessary to provide critical care services for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients. A full range of pediatric support services is available to PICU patients and their families. The intensivists also provide consultation for pain management, sedation, and total parenteral nutrition.
