Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric ICU. The role directs unit operations, coordinates care, and ensures high-quality patient outcomes during shifts. Strong leadership and clinical skills are required to guide staff and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.

Requires RN licensure (ADN/BSN) and certifications (ACLS, BLS, PALS to be obtained within specified timeframes). Travel is not required; competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• RN license is required.
• Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) required.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing care in accordance with Las Palmas Medical Center policies.
• Coordinate treatment plans and plan of care with the health care team.
• Assess, supervise, and coordinate patient care on unit during assigned shifts.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designee the Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit. The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
