Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring an RN for the Pediatrics Clinic. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, assess and document patient status, and coordinate discharge planning within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring quality care, and supporting ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives in a busy pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN unless ACLS is current.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs and evaluates nursing care within the clinical setting.
• Documents patient care per policy and participates in education plans.
• Supports quality improvement and governance activities.

Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.10. Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.11. Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Assists in education and development of staff.12. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.Experience/Skills:Required:1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.
