Job summary

Incredible Health in Eureka, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PCU/Stepdown unit to cover night shifts in a high-acuity hospital setting. The role involves delivering specialized care, monitoring vitals, IV drips, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN or higher, an active California RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for medium to high acuity patients with vigilant monitoring.
• Administer medications and manage complex treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other clinicians to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and families on managing acute or chronic conditions and use of BiPAP/CPAP and monitors.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with hospital policies.

Nurses with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Bariatric, BiPap monitoring, COVID, CVA, Cardiac Drip Management, DKA patients, High acuity patients, Post cardiac intervention, or Sheath pulls.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license1 year experience in stepdown/progressive, neurology, cardiac, or another medium to high acuity setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and other advanced nursing care practices
• Proficient in electronic medical record systems

• Administer medications and implement complex treatment plans, ensuring that medical orders are carried out accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Educate patients and their families on the management of their acute or chronic conditions, including the proper use of equipment like BiPAP/CPAP/Home Oxygen and vital sign or blood sugar monitors
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and regulations
